Enjoy Sunday with a Twist - Developer "Fun Day" July 3rd
Based on the success of last years “hands-on labs” event run during the
DeveloperDeveloperDeveloper! event, and the positive feedback we received we
wanted to offer a similar experience this year, but with more focus, more fun,
and certainly more incentives.
It is therefore with great pleasure we are pleased to announce the a 2nd
day of DeveloperDeveloperDeveloper! Sydney that we have affectionately named the
developer “Fun Day”. So what exactly are we talking about? Well on
July 3rd we have created a dedicated day of learning and coding,
are ensuring that we supply you with the
best mentors, exciting prizes, and the best technology that is available. So you
may be asking what the challenge is. Well you have a choice of 2, which will run
in parallel tracks throughout the day.
Windows Phone 7
Get a head start on the latest releases of the developer SDK,
and learn the latest features announced at MIX11. The aim of the day is to learn
as much as you can about the Windows Phone 7 API, build your application, and
win prizes. The day will comprise of a 70:30 split of coding vs. training with
mentors on hand all day to help you out where needed.
Get moving with Kinect
We are super excited to announce that
we will also be running one of the world’s first coding challenges based on the Kinect
SDK on Windows. The aim of the game is simple, find a team, learn the API, let
your imagination run wild as to what this remarkable feat of technical
engineering is capable of once you unleash it to your PC, the Cloud, and beyond.
This track will also take a 70:30 split of coding vs. training and the team with
the best proof of concept/demo at the end of the day will walk away with the
prizes.
Both events have limited places and strictly first come first serve. Registration
will open up on June 1st to co-inside with general registration for
the main DDD! Sydney event. We will supply you with tutors, mentors,
lunch/snacks, SDK’s/software, and specialist hardware (yes we have plenty of
Kinects). You will however need to bring your own laptop, mouse, power pack, and
most importantly imagination!
We are super excited about this event, and we look forward to hearing your
feedback. Please e-mail us if you have any comments, questions, or suggestions
